Calzados LOBO
In recent years, LOBO has received several awards and acknowledgements from Madrid institutions in honour of its tradition and antiquity, with more than 115 years of activity.
In 1981, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid granted us the recognition of Traditional Madrid Establishment.
In 2009, the Madrid City Council awarded us the distinction of Madrid Centenary Trade with the placement of a bronze plaque at the entrance of the shop by the illustrious cartoonist and caricaturist Antonio Mingote.
In 2010, the Community of Madrid and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid included LOBO in their book Generations of Traders: A journey through time in which we take a look at 63 shops in Madrid that have been in business for more than 100 years and that are still in the hands of the same family since their foundation. Currently, LOBO is in the hands of the fourth generation of the Lobo family, with the great-grandson of its founder at the head of the business.
The Chamber of Commerce itself has edited a video with a brief review of these 63 centenary businesses in which it briefly reviews what it means for Madrid to have this type of family business and the importance of its survival.
